When Farah Khan grudgingly said yes to Bela Sehgal’s Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, she decided to get the look and feel of the 40-year-old Shirin Fugawala perfectly right. And who would’ve done it better than a real Parsi, right?
And that’s exactly what Farah thought while roping in a Parsi designer to design her clothes. “I kept a Parsi designer – Delnaz Karbhari,” FK said revealing the brain behind her Parsi frocks.
What’s more, one look at Farah, and Delnaz must’ve realised whose clothes will suit this debutant best. “Woh bechari apne aunty ke kapde leke aati thi mere liye (Poor girl had to get her aunt’s clothes for me),” Farah confessed with a straight face. Ouch! While that piece of news was a tad bit amusing, we can’t deny that the Parsi aunt’s clothes actually suited you well, dear FK.
But FK’s Parsi makeover wasn’t only about dressing right. Now that the lady was to be seen in frocks, her body language too had to be tweaked. “I had to stand in a certain way. Keep my legs together,” Farah said explaining how tedious fashion could get for someone like her who is usually very careless with her attire, and mannerisms.
Hmmm, looks like our adorable Farah and her Parsi stylist actually worked hard to make Farah fit into the character of Shirin. But did they succeed? Do you think Farah really manage to look like a 40-year-old Parsi lady called Shirin Fugawala?

I just saw this movie first day first show. I enjoyed it immensely. Each and every parsi must see this movie. very well made. good story. good performances by boman and farah. Mahbanoo was excellent. After munnabhai, boman’s performance was very good in this movie. good music, good songs. the best song was by usha uthup. Bpp must arrange a free show of this movie for all those who are registered in their matrimonial bureau. I am sure love in our community will increase if you enjoy this parsi comedy. Just forget your worries and Enjoy this movie. God Bless the community.
