I also think that the religion should be preserved as a reminder of what the ancestors of the Zoroastrians went through. They were persecuted through the centuries and it would be a crime to allow their religion, the religion that they fought so hard for, to die.

It is a shame that Zoroastrianism is dying out because many of its practices and beliefs are very logical.

kudos to rayan dastoor, Sheherazad Pavri, and all like him who in this material world take this extra effort of learning about our religion, our culture and spending their precious childhood days becoming mobeds when the outside world would be luring them with other varied interests....a big thumbs up to their parents who would have brought up such disciplined children and taken the initiative to add their contribution in their own way for our dying race.

our BPP trustees must now take this issue seriously...training mobeds should be done at ona larger scale....but the deamd would rise only if practicing preisthood is treated as a profession just like any other profession that one takes up. In fact respect and job satisfaction I suppose would be naturally inbuilt in this kind of a job,...what needs to be taken care of then is the financial gainand all other employee benefits that one would get from a job outside....i know of a couple of mobeds who honestly liked serving the society through offering their services...but this was limited only till when they are studying...because after they complete their education, parental and societal pressure forces them into lookinga t higher studies or more lucrative jobs....

with all the changes that are happening in the BPP (Bombay Parsi Punchayat) today, this new initiative should be taken up in their mission statement.
