Trees hacked in Parsi colony

Mumbai, November 28: DADAR Parsi Colony, one of the few residential areas in Mumbai that still enjoys the shade of hundreds of trees, got a taste on Monday of construction frenzy.

Three trees were hacked in the upper middle-class locality in the last two weeks. While an Asoka tree on Plot 795, Jame Jamshed Road, was hacked on Monday afternoon to make way for the driveway of an under-construction building, a peepal and a jackfruit tree were cut on November 13 to make way for the building’s compound.
