The Threads Of Continuity is one of the three mega-exhibitions that form part of The Everlasting Flame 2016 International Program organized by PARZOR and the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. The exhibitions are outstanding and worth a trip to New Delhi just to see them all in person.

Below are some pictures of the Inauguration of the Exhibition. Beautiful HaftSeen tables were laid out on the Lawns of the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts on Jamshedi Navroze March 21st, 2016. The Inauguration had the likes of Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla, Lord Karan Bilimoria and Ministry of Minority Affairs (and honorary Parsi) Najma “Najamai” Heptullah being welcomed by the amazing Dr. Shernaz Cama. Astad Deboo and his troupe regaled the crowd with a beautifully choreographed dance performance.

About The Exhibition

Threads of Continuity focuses on the philosophy and culture of the ancient Zoroastrian faith from its origins in Central Asia, tracing a geographical and chronological continuum till the present. This philosophy became a part of the lived heritage of the Zoroastrian community-both in India and Iran.

Of special interest are the cross-cultural influences on the community in India. To highlight these, Gujarat and the Deccan will be displayed in detail for the first time.

A section will depict the contribution of the community to the making of Modern India. The exhibition envisaged, attempts to explain the Zoroastrian philosophy that a sacred thread links all creation.

Rare artefacts and manuscripts from reputed academic and cultural institutions worldwide are a part of the display. Perhaps even more significant are the loans of precious personal objects from individuals, creating an exhibition of living culture. Installations, and video recordings, representing spiritual as well as environmental practices in material life, highlight the holistic nature of this faith. As a participative exhibition, Threads of Continuity will bring to the audience multiple interactive events at IGNCA as well as a Film Festival.
