133-year-old Mumbai’s Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee school wins two honours in quick succession

MUMBAI: Under the ‘My School, Beautiful School’ (‘Mazhi Shala Sundar Shala’) venture, a scheme launched under the chief minister’s Project, the primary section of the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution (BJPC Institution), Charni Road, won third prize in the Private & Unaided Schools category at Mumbai Division D Ward level. The award constitutes a trophy, citation and a cheque of Rs 11 lakh.

The state’s education minister Deepak Kesarkar presented the award at a recent ceremony in NCPA, Nariman Point.

The school issued a press release to this effect on Tuesday. “The entire campaign was divided into two phases, with phase I taking off last year. This year phase II was carried out and monitored by the concerned authorities. All the schools that took part were evaluated on three specifications namely infrastructure facilities, academic and co-curricular excellence, and the implementation of various schemes pertaining to holistic education launched by the govt of Maharashtra,” said principals Daisy Zohrabi and Vandana Nambiar.

Founded in the year 1891, the BJPC Institution is housed in a beautiful heritage building in the heart of Mumbai city.

Nambiar added, “Moreover, EducationWorld, a renowned forum for school rankings across all boards, conferred the Vintage Legacy Co-Ed Day School Award upon our institute at a glittering awards ceremony in New Delhi on Oct 18, adding another feather to our cap.”

“The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution ranks 18th in India, sixth in Maharashtra and fifth in Mumbai in the Vintage Legacy Co-Ed Day School Category as per the ratings for the academic year 2024-25.”
