Boman Irani to play Saddam Hussein

boman_fWe wonder if there’s a better character actor in the country than Boman Irani. Or if we may, there aren’t many better actors than him at all. The man has always defied odds to portray extensively unique characters with such veritable attributes that it could put most seasoned of stars to shame. He is a Parsi by birth, and still the way with which he portrayed a pompous Punjabi land shark in ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ so flawlessly is what we still fail to figure out. Or the way he played a hilariously psychotic college dean in ‘3 Idiots’ was absolutely unbelievable. But the man would not settle down at merely that, because fresh reports suggest that the artiste is set to step into the shoes of the deceased president of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, in an upcoming flick.

And if what we just mentioned above is true to its core, we are super-excited and so should you be. Reportedly, producer Bunty Walia has roped in the actor to play the controversial Iraqi chief in his next ‘Saddam Calling Baghdad’. Kaizad Gustad will be the director. The genre of the movie is yet to be disclosed, but we have every reason to be ecstatic already. It’s just a treat in itself to watch Boman weave his magic on screen, and to see him in such a character would only be an added bonus. Way to go!
