Mumbai Teenager, Magician Zenia Bhumgara to receive the prestigious Merlin Award (The Oscars of Magic)

“…..my daughter Magician Zenia Bhumgara , 1st year BMM student of Jaihind College Mumbai, will be receiving the Prestigious Merlin Award on 21st Sept 2015. The International Magicians Society Newyork gives this award to a few selected magicians all over the world for acknowledging their excellence and contribution to the Art of magic . The IMS founder , Mr Tony Hassini is coming from Newyork to prestent the award personally. The previous receipients include David Copperfield, Criss Angels, Penn and Teller and P C Sorcar.”

The International Magicians Society and its 37,000 members worldwide, the world’s largest magic organization as recorded in the Guinness World Records, has chosen magician Zenia Bhumgara from Mumbai, a student  of Jai Hind College, to receive the prestigious Merlin Award 2015.

The Merlin Award is awarded to a few select magicians from all over the world to acknowledge their extraordinary talent and contributions to the art of magic. The Merlin Award to magic is what the Oscar is to movies. It gives me great pleasure to announce the Board of Directors of IMS have decided to present Zenia the Merlin Award to acknowledge her achievements in the art of magic. We are impressed by her progressive journey in the field of magic, starting at the early age of 4 years old. She has performed all over India and abroad and won several national and international awards in magic contests.

In 20l2, she attended a workshop with her idol, David Copperfield, in the Society of American Magicians Convention in Las Vegas. She was awarded the “Most Popular Magician Award in Bangkok 2014” at the Bangkok International Magic Extravaganza. She has brought cheer and smiles by performing regularly for handicapped and underprivileged children in India. In 20ll, she toured Japan and performed in several schools and old age homes for tsunami affected people. In Japan she also performed in Namaste India in Tokyo, one of the largest Indo-Japanese festivals.

In 2014, she was the first prize winner in the Choomantar Magic Contest in Hyderabad.To acknowledge her magical talent at such a young age, the IMS wishes to present the Merlin Award to he as “Best Female Teenage Magician of India”.

The Merlin Award will be presentedo n September2 1,2015 in Mumbai, India, when I will personally come to present it at an award ceremony in Mumbai. We acknowledge her achievements in magic and wish her every success.
