6th Return to Roots 2020 Kicks off in Mumbai India

18 youth from USA, Canada, UK, UAE, Pakistan and India gathered today morning at the Cusrow Baug Pavilion in Colaba, Mumbai for the start of the 6th Return To Roots Trip. RTR had its first trip in 2013 and has since run successful trips in 2015, 2016, 2017 2018 leading upto the current one.

The program run under the aegis of PARZOR is run by the youth who return as alumni and devote their time to run the trip.

The orientation was kicked off by the 4 alumni who will be accompanying the group on the entire trip.

Later in the day the group found itself at the Doongerwadi, The Parsi Towers of Silence at the Hanging Gardens area in Mumbai. They got a detailed and extensive tour of the entire Doongerwadi by esteemed Zoroastrian scholar and a mentor of the Return To Roots program since inception.

They then made their way to Ratan Tata Institute to see the work of the amazing seamstresses in the Embroidery division. After lunch they had a chance to try their hands at making bhakras and baking Daar Ni Poris.

The day ended with a visit to the WAPIZ Navroze sale at Cama Baug where the RTR Fellows stocked on the various items on sale.

Over the next 14 days the Fellows will travel to Lonavala, Pune, Nargol, Sanjan, Udvada, Navsari, Surat, Baroda and a full day in the villages of South Gujarat with the WZO Trust Funds India.
