In a case of what can be described as arm twisting by creditors, a family of three, tried to commit suicide in Ahmedabad. They had consumed heavy dose of sedative and they were found unconscious in their house in satellite area of the city.
They are Pervez Bharucha (57), his wife Beroz (50) and son Ruzan (27). Ruzan is reportedly out of danger, while his parents are in a critical condition.
A neighbour had informed the 108 emergency service about the suicide. The family was first taken to the Sola Civil Hospital and then shifted to the Sterling Hospital at Thaltej. The Bharuchas are residents of, Safal Parivesh Apartments near Prahlad Nagar Garden.
Police found three notes written by Ruzan from his pocket; one of them being a suicide note and two others addressed to his parents and fiancée. In his suicide note, Ruzan has said they have been indebted to the tune of Rs 71 lakh by some Dr Rajnikant Nair and so he is committing suicide, police said.
