The Parsi Gymkhana came alive with the thunderous cheers of over 200 spectators as the second season of the All Parsi Men’s Volleyball and Women’s Throwball tournament unfolded, proudly sponsored by Yohan Ponawalla and organized by the Zoroastrian Youth Association, Poona Zarthosti Seva Mandal, and Zoroastrian Sports Association.

A total of 9 teams enthusiastically participated in the volleyball category, while the throwball event witnessed the spirited competition of 3 teams. The diverse array of participants showcased a blend of youthful exuberance and seasoned expertise, with players ranging from a remarkable 9 years old to an impressive 63 years young.

The highlight of the event was the intense final match in the Men’s Volleyball category, where Persepolis and Mavericks battled it out in a nail-biting contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The teams displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, making it a close encounter. Ultimately, it was Persepolis who emerged victorious, claiming the championship title for the second consecutive year, adding to their triumph in 2023.

In the Women’s Throwball category, ZYA A team dominated the tournament with their exceptional performance, securing a clear and convincing win. The team’s prowess and coordinated efforts were on full display, earning them the well-deserved title of champions.

Mr Poonawalla, the generous sponsor of the event, expressed his satisfaction with the level of competition and the enthusiasm shown by both players and spectators. He emphasized the importance of promoting sports within the community and praised the organizing associations for their dedication in making the tournament a resounding success.
