“All is well that ends well”. The Parsi community can heave a sigh of relief as an amicable albeit an Interim Settlement has been reached between the management of BPP Trust and the Union acting on behalf of the workmen.

Due to persistent efforts by the Chairman, Shri Dinshaw R. Mehta and especially Shri Jimmy Mistry, Trustee of the BPP Trust, who was particularly instrumental in influencing all the other Trustees to relinquish their adamancy in the larger interest of the BPP Trust and all Parsi community.  It was due to this persistence by Shri Jimmy Mistry and Shri Dinshaw Mehta that all the other Trustees seems to have realized that no fruitful purpose would be served by continuing with this stalemate and consequently a Settlement which provides for Interim Relief of Rs. 2,900/- (Rupees Two Thousand Nine Hundred only) per month per workman has been reached between the Sabha and the BPP Trust.

This Interim Settlement has been made effective from January 01, 2015, i.e. the workmen shall be given the amount of Interim relief with retrospective effect from 1st January 2015 onwards till a final settlement is signed with the New Board of Trustees who would be elected consequent to the elections scheduled to be held in October 2015.

It has also been agreed that the New Board of Trustees shall endevour to reach a final settlement on or before 31st March 2016 which shall be made effective from January 01, 2015. The Interim Relief provided herein shall be adjusted against the final settlement.

Dated: 29th July 2015.
