Dr Homi Dhalla, President, World Zarathushti Cultural Foundation, Mr Minoo Shroff, President, Indo-Iran Friendship Society, Mr. Hossein Sadre, Film Director, and Ms Florence Somer Gavage, Researcher and Assistant Film Director, of the film “Legacy of the Flame”, will be present at the screening.
The film Legacy of the Flame deals with the panorama of the Parsi community right from the past, with archaeological facts and their contribution to the Indian community. A substantial amount oflight is thrown on the present scenario and how young urban Parsis are dealing with contemporarysituations which face their community and its future.
Hossein Sadre was born in 1946 to Iranian parents. He graduated from the University of Leicester in 1968 with a BA Degree in Sociology. He enrolled at the London International Film School, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Film Direction in 1972. On his return to Iran, he joined the National Film Board at the Ministry of Culture and, subsequently, the National Iranian Television, where he made a series of documentary films. He left Iran in 1980 and settled in Belgium where he continues his work as Director, Editor and Cinematographer mainly in the field of documentary films.
Florence Somer Gavage was born in 1979 in Belgium. She graduated from the University of Liege in Philosophy in 2005. She began work on television documentaries as Researcher and Assistant FilmDirector. She is specialised in Middle Eastern religions.
