No Child Should Die in the Dawn of Their Life
Each September, when the days turn crisp and summer gives way to fall, Sheroo Kanga of Cranbury, New Jersey, laces up her shoes and joins thousands across the country for the St. Jude Walk/Run, honoring Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Sheroo is a cherished member of the Zoroastrian community in the Tristate area of NY NJ and CT, known for her warmth, generosity, and commitment to causes that touch lives far beyond our own circles. For her, giving back is a way of living the values of care and service that our community holds dear.
This will be Sheroo’s eighth year walking. What began as a small step of solidarity has become a personal mission. Last year alone, thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and well-wishers, she raised an incredible $22,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
For Sheroo, it’s simple: “No child should die in the dawn of their life.”
That is the guiding spirit of St. Jude. Since its founding in 1962, the hospital has transformed the outlook for children with cancer, raising survival rates from 20% to over 80%. Families never receive a bill—not for treatment, not for housing, not for food—so they can focus only on their child’s healing. Every donation, no matter the size, becomes part of that miracle.
This year, Sheroo is once again asking our community to stand with her. Your support—whether through a donation or by spreading the word—helps fuel the research and care that saves children’s lives every single day.
